How many BF at 12 months+ ?

My son is almost a year and just curious how much other babies his age feed. He feeds bedtime, 2 times at night and 2 times durnig the day most days. Is that too much? He doesnt ask for the day time feeds and doesnt seem bothered if we are out and he misses them. I offer the day time feeds before his nap so he knows nap is coming but do you think I should stop offering after a year and just feed when he asks?

I think it's totally up to you hon. Aisling is nearly 11 months and feeds 3 times a day, morning, mid-afternoon and bedtime. Aisling was the same with her morning feed, wasn't bothered so I stopped offering. She's more interested in the mid afternoon one so I'll keep up that one.

It depends on how you would like feeding to go. I would like her to cut back to just morning and bedtime soon enough as I don't feel comfortable feeding her in front of others past a year. This doesn't bother others at all and there's always the chance of premature weaning if you don't keep offering. So I guess it depends on what your plans are

Hi girls!

I logged on tonight to ask the very same question! Emily is now 10 months old and I was wondering how many feeds you give?

At the moment I give her an early morning feed, a bottle in the afternoon and then a bedtime feed, in addition to her breakfast, lunch and dinner. She has been quite ill lately (ear infection in December, week-long tummy bug in February) and is quite often waking in the night for a feed. I read somewhere that babies this age should be drinking equivalent of 3 x 8oz bottles a day but with BF its still a guessing game!

By 12 months I would like to stop BF although I will dearly dearly miss it....especially that bedtime feed when her eyes roll back in ecstacy, bless!

We've just stopped now at 21 months! I always went with her with the feeding, she stopped night feeds at 13-14 months I think.. As for day feeds they varied - some weeks she would be on and off all day (usually with teething) and others she wouldn't even feed some days!

Alyssa's almost 13 months old and still nursing. She nurses in the morning before I go to work, when I get in on an evening, before bed and twice or so during the night. During the day she has water in a sippy cup, lots of fresh fruit and veg and yogurts and such as well as her meals. We're just following her lead; she doesn't nurse when we're out and about anymore, and we're going to let her self-wean.
xx

My son is almost 18 months and still feeds alot.

Morning , before nap and after nap and before bed at the very least . He normally feeds at least twice during the night and as many as another 5/6 times during the day.
I kinda encourage it though as it is something we both enjoy plus it calms him down (he is all boy and always throwing fits or getting into trouble) .
