Only just seeing this - it sounds so encouraging, what you have achieved so far! I was going to suggest lots of skin to skin too.... also, put him tummy to mummy between your boobs and S2S like that.... you never know, he might even root around and find your breast HIMSELF, wih no scary "pressure" from anyone trying to latch him on. GOOD LUCK

It sounds like progress already! But don't get down if its one step forward two steps back. Great news, so lovely.

wow, i cant rlly offer any advice that hasnt already been said but i just wanted to give u a MASSIVE cyber pat on the back, i have an unbelievable amount of respect for you and your commitment - you should be so so so proud of yourself.
I think your doing incredibly well...maybe another step to possibly get rid of the sheild would be when you are having a nice relaxed cuddle and hes clsoe to you nip maybe squeeze a little milk so its just on the nipple...easing in the idea that not only are they nice cuddly pillows but they also bring his favourite food too?
Once again you should be so so so proud of yourself xxxxxxxxx

what you said sounded like my experiance with my first son, i had a bf health care support worker come to the house to help me bf, she must have had a cigerette before she came in and as i dont smoke i found this off putting she then tried to force my son onto my breast by placing her hand on the back of his head and pushing him on, he kept coming off the breast and she kept putting him on. i found this very upsetting and stressful, he then wouldnt feed, because of this i gave up bf which i regret now but my son was also lactose intolarant and had silent reflux.
My second son is completely different and no probs bf :happydance
