Have you tried hand expressing? My daughter lost 14% of her birthweight and, at the time, I found handexpressing milk much easier than pumping.. This continued right the way on through - when I went back to work when she was 11.5 months I tried using a breastpump at work (handy working in a neonatal icu!!) and let down 30mls in 10 minutes - I gave up and went back to hand expressing and in the following 10 minutes took out nearly 200mls more, go figure!!

I don't let down for pumps clearly! Plus hand expressing is much less hassle, no kit to sterilise and you don't need to worry about being near a plug etc!

love you! <3
The part that just your nipple goes in...

And.... @ taking a picture of your boob in it...
Love you Kori... you crack me uuuuuuuup!

I havent had a chance to call the company yet, which I still wanna do anyway just to see what they say, because maybe its a suction problem?
But anyway, maybe I will try hand expressing... just to see how much I can actually get!! So whats the deal with hand expressing... do you really just squeeze your boob over a bowl? Obviously you wash your hands and stuff, but you know what I mean!

After I call the company, and try hand pumping, I will most likely get that FirstYears pump and give it a whirl since Kori swears by it

Thanks again girls! Will let ya's know how things go.

I have two pumps and I thought they where crap as I cant get anything out with a manuel one. And very little with an electric one, takes ages for 2floz to come out. But my son seems to be getting it out ok? there must be a difference, babies have the sucking down to a T lol

Windbloom - have a look here!

http://www.realbabymilk.org/breastfe...and-expressing

What I found when expressing with jocelyn was that it would take a few seconds for anyhting to flow, I'd get huge let-downs every few minutes where there would be lots of jets of milk all the time for 30 seconds and then in between there would just be one or two small jets coming out only when I was squeezing..

Thanks for all the great info girls!!

I also found through another link on BnB (original source: kellymom.com):

Most moms who are nursing full-time are able to pump around 1/2 to 2 ounces total (for both breasts) per pumping session. Moms who pump more milk per session may have an oversupply of milk, or may respond better than average to the pump, or may have been able to increase pump output with practice. Many moms think that they should be able to pump 4-8 ounces per pumping session, but even 4 ounces is an unusually large pumping output.

Boy do I feel better now...
I guess my 2 ounces is normal!
