Need a "YES I AM breastfeeding this baby!" Sign...

Dont think Ive ever giggled so much in my life! OH decided to suprise me with a meal out this evening, Ive been pretty much housebound since starting pumping for Freddie and the only socialising Ive been doing is typing on BnB My world has diminished to two babies and a breast pump
Anyhow we went to a local pub restraunt and Theo was hungry so I sat down and fed him...I swear as one the ENTIRE pub stopped eating turned and gawped. Course, me being me I put a whacking great grin on my face and then proceeded to give one rather unsubtle middleaged lady a thumbs up when she couldnt stop staring as I was chatting to my 5yr old whilst feeding Theo. She moved table....
Next time I am going in with a neon flashing sign that says "Yes, I really am breastfeeding a baby, its ok, you can stop staring now "
Then the waiter didnt know where the hell to look when he came over, only a young lad and he really didnt want to make me feel uncomfortable but he couldnt look at my eyes and kept staring over my shoulder and shuffling his feet, wanted to give him a hug and tell him it was ok, it wasnt his fault
Funny how people react so suprised when they see a mum BFing, aside from the one lady noone seemed to have a negative reaction it was just a look of "Is she....isnt she....I think she is...." like it was a rare occurrence!

I once asked a lady if she would eat her lunch on the toilet or in the bathroom after she suggested I nurse in the public restroom. Good for you!!!

that made me laugh
i got that look from a waiter when we went out last week - didnt know where to look and decided to ask me if i was okay about 6 times whilst putting our food down!

i got some funny stares at a christening (of all places) today for breastfeeding at the party afterwards...
a few swift smiles and they soon felt uncomfortable

People like that make a lot of women not want to breastfeed. Which is ridiculous! Women need to breastfeed more often in public to get people used to it! Its natural and so special!
