You NEED to tell visitors to back off! I dont believe in visitors in the first week or so - its unfair on Mum and baby, bonding time and resting. Visitors can wait - dont try and please everyone, people need to respect your wishes.

I wish my mum had of listened to that, she was in hours after the birth with everyone and said I had to right to say who could visit me and that I was being rude telling people.

Most my other half side waited till they settled down and where sensible about it just not mine. Nothing like looking at a crowd of people when you look and feel like crap and trying to nurse a baby. I can understand the excitement but mum and baby should come first.

My milk dried up when I was expressing because we had too many visitors. I should have been firmer with them. I just couldn't face pumping in front of my Dad.

I know, I cant believe how much its affected people.
The thing is, I am genuinely pleased to see everyone that has been but there's just so many of them-both me & OH come from large families. I know if I speak to OH about it, he'll think I'm being funny with his family & friends because I'm ok pumping in front of most of mine. So it would be mainly his side that I was asking to leave, more than mine & I know he'd take offence.
I have hit on a kind of solution today though- I've locked the door & am not answering my phone & me & Charlotte have had a lovely day

Gosh - I struggled and NOBODY would dare turn up on us unannounced.

Don't feel bad. It's a crazy time. Maybe you could explain to your OH just how important it is for just this short time. Maybe even say the same to all visitors if needs be.
