Hope you don't have too much trouble
Thanks hun I'lldefinitely go to see the HV first then x

Like I said ask your hv first!! Also Fenugreek needs to be taken in a MUCH MUCH higher dose than that.

You need to be taking 8 capsules a day, that's 2 4 times a day!! 610mg capsules from Holland and Barrett. That's why you don't smell, you need to takes loads of it hun. You take it for about 2 weeks and if it isn't working after that then it won't.

You need to get your baby to the breast as much as you possibly can too, skin to skin contact and lots of time with your baby, to ensure that your body starts to produce the milk. Without the stimulation from your baby, or a pump, it won't increase, domperidone is the same.

Thanks. Lucas just won't latch on he screams when I try and get him to so I thought maybe he is just too old now? I asked the nurse recently (even though its not her "speciality" but still) and she said I was wasting my time and I should stick to formula!

I pump and hand express every few hours, and in 2 weeks I have gone from producing NOTHING to a couple of ounces every time I express so I'm quite proud! However that is nowhere near enough to satisfy Lucas lol.

Anyway thanks everyone I'll def see my HV tomorrow as thats the baby clinic day xx

Sorry to bump this thread but do you think my midwife would get my gp to prescribe this before my baby is born? I've been doing research on lack of vascular tissue and it recomends to start taking this during the last month of pregnancy to start buildng up the milk.. hmmm

I had to get a letter from a lactation consultant before my Dr would prescribe it. Even then she didn't want to because she didn't want me to get my hopes up.

I am self financing it as my GP refused to prescribe it as my LO was over 1 month old. He said to top up with formula and thought it was odd I wanted to continue with breast feeding I've spent £200, I ordered 500 pills from the US in the end its so hard buying a pack a day here x

You could always try and ask, most doctors require the actual problem before they will prescribe.
