bringing up lots of milk could definitely be the problem, this is what happened to us, my lo has reflux. Can you get any other professional advice from a hv or doctor? it's hard to be that helpful when it could be so many things. i noticed a difference in my supply when i dont drink enough water or eat enough calories too. don't worry, i'm sure you will get to the bottom of it, as long as he's not losing weight, is okay. good luck with it all.

Also, don't feel bad about giving a top up of formula, (although giving EBM is better for your supply) I had to do this in the first 3 weeks, but don't anymore x

I've asked around for you on a French forum where I've always gotten loads of help!

They've asked how many feeds your LO had per day and if he wet his nappies regularly.

I feed about 8 times in 24 hours.

I've started being more vigilant today with how long she feeds for (was feeding her for 40 mins previously) feeding her for about 20 on one side now but this means she's bringing up more milk!

I'm thinking of goign back to letting her take her time but I'm so confused. I don't understand why she wouldn't gain weight. When she's done feeding when I squeeze my boob 60 or 70% of the time there's still a little bit left. I'm wondering if she's burning too much energy from not sleeping all the time?

I've been pumping today an hour or half an hour after a feed (just twice after my morning pump) and only got 2 ounces. But then I am getting stupidly stressed about this. I wish I could relax. Took out some stocked expressed milk and OH looked after LO whilst I went and had an kip, but I couldn't sleep. I'm worst than the baby! SO I just lay there and did some yoga style relaxation.

I had cake, burgers and a huge healthy veggie meal today and started back on the fenugreek. (I had ran out and was on fennel last week which seemed to be doing wonders)

Lets see what happens?

And thank you SOOOOOOO much for the advice and support.

Have you looked into reflux, hun? It might be why she spits up so much and is so unsettled.

Well done for all that you're doing, sounds like you're putting your all into it xxx

Don't stress! she is fine. She is getting enough from you. Let her take her time and finish when she wants to. The only thing I would say is try offering her the breast more often, if she takes it great! If not then she's getting enough.

Yes, great point... offer her more frequently but for shorter periods if she's sick a lot. Say 20 mins every 2h and see how she goes.

You really need to relax a little hun and don't panic. As long as your baby is gaining weight, even a little bit it, then it is ok. They only need to find a line and follow it, it doesn't have to be one they have drawn on a silly graph.

You need to let her take as long as she wants to feed for, just let her be. Let her take as much as she wants from both sides. Do not clock watch and just have a glass of water near by. You need to get your baby to the breast as often as they want and offer both breasts each time.

Eating high calorific foods will mostly make you gain weight hun and you do not need to alter your diet to eat high calorie food. You need a balanced, healthy diet and if you need eat your 3 meals a day. Porridge for breakfast is often believed to help and oaty snacks during the day. You should have about 4 pints of water a day, too much can be detremental. Also take care of yourself, co=sleep so you get rest at night and just see how things go.

Tkae care xx

Aren't graphs designed for bottlefed babies anyway? I let Liam eat as long as he wants as often as he wants. I read on various sites that timing babies is pointless. Even more pointless is trying to get them to fit in a schedule! I wish Liam would feed for less than 1h at a time but what can I do?

(Going to check the French forums for insights)
