Question

Nursing to sleep

Juleika still only goes to sleep on the breast or by holding and rocking her (on two ocassions only, she fell asleep on her own in her cot!!!)

I am not sure what to do and if there is anything I can do to change that?

I do not want to do the controlled crying thing and I don't have a problem with lying down together with her and let her fall asleep on the breast!

but I just wonder, does this stop by its own? I mean, if she is two years old, will she still need the breast to fall asleep???

I did this and Seren stopped it at a year old. It didn't bother me to feed her to sleep at night.

I'm trying to teach Kaya to fall asleep herself at night, just so her dad can put her to bed sometimes. I'm doing it by having a bedtime routine - massage, up to bed, story then feed. I'm then lying beside her in bed and not letting her suck, but singing to her instead. Having said that, it's not working yet lol.

yeah, I try this as well!

it worked twice so far, but then not anymore!

possibly, as she was either to tired or still too awake? I really don't have a clue!

atm, I try to find the right timing for the bedtime routine and her daytime naps!

Kayleigh was around 6 months before she stopped being nursed to sleep.

She now has tea, nappy change and jamas bf, 15 mins playing with siblings then bed with her mobile. Majority of time she settles, sometimes you hear her playing in her cot for awhile, other times shes a bit grizzly, but settles within half an hour.

She's still small so I wouldn't worry about it, even bottle fed babies do that
