Totally agree with you polaris, I've felt the same way so many times at various groups and listening to hvs etc.

I think it's presented as not being 'normal' to bfeed, like if they're not on formula then how can they possibly be getting enough of what they need?

Your iron levels might be great but this won't be the case for everyone. As said in this link your babies iron supplies will start to diminish at 6 months and they will need to replace it from somewhere:

Thanks for the link, the list of foods confirms to me that Elliot is offered loads of different foods with iron in. That site seems a bit odd though, it mentions blw'ing but doesn't really promote it and says -

"You should always consult your baby’s pediatrician before introducing new foods to your baby. Avoid any suggested foods that may pose an allergy risk for your baby."

???! I did mention to my dr that blw'ed babies have been found to take what they need and select foods that fulfil their nutritional needs. I'm going to trust him to have what he needs as he's doing fantastically well so far.

I asked Patrick's pediatrician if he needed iron supplements or anything like that (P ebf until 6 months, BLW/bf now) as I had read that might be needed and she said he didn't and had no concerns about iron levels.
