Best Bottles to Use?

Hey, I'm planning to breastfeed and then start expressing too so DH can have a go at feeding.

I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for the best bottles to use when breastfeeding & bottle feeding? I'd like to find something that LO should have least problem (though I guess it depends on the baby!) switching to/from alongside the boob!

Also, I'm looking at the Philips Avent Isis Electric pump, is it any good?

Do people prefer storing milk in bags or bottles? I'm planning to freeze a load.

I'm actually adding all this stuff to my baby registry, so is there anything else I need (eg steriliser for the bottles?).

Ta!

xx

Iv only been expressing a few days and have been using the tommee tippee closer to nature bottles and manual pump. They have both been working well for me. I do have a electric pump that a friend gave to me, I'm sure its the philips one, haven't had the chance to use it yet tho. Will have a go sometime time today and let you know how it goes.x

Thanks, I was looking at the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles etc, but I don't think I can get them in the US unfortunately.

Thank you, that would be really helpful!! BTW my mum said she didn't get on with manual pumps at all - is there a big difference between the 'sensation' of pumping with a manual versus an electric?

I have a philips electric pump and Im happy with it, alot of ladies on here also recommend the Medela swing.
For bottles i def recommend those tommee tippee bottles..pity you cant get thwm in the US They are really 'boob'like and my lo wouldnt take a bottle for ages and we managed it at 6 months with those tommee tippees

Thanks! I could always get my mum to bring some over/order some from the UK if they're really the best ones, it's just a pain incase we need replacements etc... I did like the look of them and they seem to be very popular in the UK, I was disappointed when I couldn't find them over here...

I found Alasdair's latch started to get a bit lazy using the tommee tippee ones. I'd actually recommend the MAM ones, they don't look like they'd be any good but both me and a friend managed to combine breast and bottle for a while doing it. Alasdair was fed up to 6 months for about 4 months only having 1 or 2 breastfeeds a day so you see how easy it would have been for him to reject the breast.

I can't really help with the other bits...I used to hand express straight into a bottle if I ever did it and shove it in the fridge, always using it a couple of hrs later!

Yes, very recent addition. Babies r us was having a huge introduction advertisement about them last week and when I went in to the store yesterday they had a HUGE display smack right in the front. Definitely a new addition!!
