well, I indeed only got pads and nursing bra's to start with, as I thought like Marley, all I need is the baby and my boobs

but for emergency you should have a shop, which is open long hours and somebody around you, who can get you formula and bottles if you need it!

at first, you will find out in hospital if breastfeeding is working and in any case they have bottles with milk there! (don't know if you are planning a homebirth, though?)

pump, you can wait and see how much milk you have!

me, for example, gave up on pumping as I only got 1 oz out in half an hour!

I never used nipple creme, you can use your milk to rub in, in case your nipples get dry. if they crack you still can go to the pharmacy.

I found muslin squares good, to put under my boob whilst feeding.

maybe patience and determination as well

all the best

I just used the supermarkets own brand of pads and they were fine. They're all much of a muchness I think. Depends how much you leak and early on it wasn't a problem for me. It was later as I started cutting feeds out that I used them more.

I used nipple cream - Lansinoh I think or some camomile stuff. Couldn't have managed without that in the early days.
