10 months old and returning to work

Please can someone advise me!

My baby will be 10 months when I return to work (April). He has never had a bottle and is exclusively BF. At the moment (7 months) he will feed morning, night and perhaps twice through the day. What do you think he will be doing at 10 months? Will he just need morning and night? What do I do if he needs feeding / comforting through the day but I am at work? I can't see him accepting a bottle.

Will I need to express and would I need to put this in a sippy cup?!?

Sorry I am clueless!

Thanks

xx

Oh bless you, it's hard going back. I can't advise too much on the 10 month part but Ilana never took a bottle before and only just started after i went back - she went onto one via a sippy cup. At 10 months milk is obviously still important but solids will also be well established so as long as your LO still gets 500-600ml of milk a day (I know that's right after 6 months, I think still true at 10?), even if he refuses milk while you're gone, you can get that in him with a bit feed before you go and a couple in the evening, or used with cereal, mixed in with purees etc etc.

I would started trying to get him to take some milk from a sippy cup now to get him used to it (I posted how we managed on petal's thread about them below) and see how he reacts. You might be surprised!

Mine could stay sometimes on the morning and night feeds only esp. when we're out and about.
still struggling with the cups ..
It'd be better if u try to introduce the cup during the day.. maybe first couple of times let him play with ot to get use to it ..

G'luck

He is brilliant with the sippy cup with water. Took it happily from day 1 of weaning him. I suppose what I more worried about is not whether he will take the milk from a cup but rather what to do if he needs a comfort becuase at the moment boob is his only comfort. He doesn't have a dummy, favourite blanket etc.

hey hun, isabel is the same only she won't even take water from a sippy cup and i return to work in 2 months!

i read a guide from HIPP that said at 9 months they generally take milk with their breakfast and dinner and juice/water at lunch and for snack drinks.
