Could my periods have started again already???UPDATE....

Today I started bleeding fairly heavily. No pain just bleeding and it came on out of the blue eg. I don't think anything has caused it.

I have been bf since giving birth (so just over 10 weeks). I feed Elliott on demand and whenever he has had a bottle I always express so that my body still thinks he needs the milk.

So, can periods start again this early? If so, I feel cheated!! I was hoping for a longer break than this!!

I have heard that they can start any time, even if you are BF, but I would check this out with the docs just to make sure that there is no other cause for the bleeding (although I can't think what other cause there could be). Poor you, having periods back must be no fun, I am not keen to see the return of mine any time soon!

Yep... it could well be! I got mine 8 weeks after birth, and I exclusively BF. I've had 3 so far and my LO is 18 weeks tomorrow! Sucks really!

But if you think there may be another cause speak to a doc!

I had bleeding around the 2 month mark and I thought it was my period but it was a 6th week bleed which apparently is common. If you google 6th week bleed you could find out if that is what yours is.

I exclusively BFed on demand. I still BFed on demand except we have added in BLWing now. I still feed every 3 hours around the clock, too. I got AF back when Otter was 14 weeks. And I started ovulating, too. So, consider yourself fertile now!! I knew I was fertile, but played with fire anyway. Got caught when Otter had just turned 5 months old.

Well, I phoned the Doctor last week and he said to give it a few days and see what happens....

So, I am still bleeding today although very lightly. So that's 4 days in total now.

I'm fairly certain it is my period (blimming typical ).

Will this affect my milk supply?xx

p.s Tigerlady what a surprise for you! I have now started thinking about contraception!....

I had a period 5 weeks after birth, but it never came back. It's sporadic, your period... but it shouldn't affect your milk supply. As long as you keep bfing, your milk will keep being produced.

No, it shouldn't affect your milk supply. Mine stayed abundant through all my cycles. However, the kind of birth control you choose MIGHT affect your supply. That is why I was dragging my feet about contraception. I was certain I wanted something NON hormonal -- which limits your options. I had finally settled on getting a non hormonal IUD and had an appt to talk to doc about it the day after I got a bfp!

However, I have found that pg affects my milk supply! So, if you want to bfed and don't want another LO just yet -- get birth control sorted asap!
