Ameda Lactaline Dual electric pump - £80 at NCT shop!

I just ordered mine and it's reduced to £80 (normally closer to £100) and postage is free! I paid £4 for express delivery but even with that it was a bargain.

Just sharing in case anyone else is about to buy.

Oooo I am really tempted to get one! I've got a Medela swing but I haven't got the bit to hold it to my boob and surely doing both boobs at once has got to be more effective!

Do you know how big it is? Also do you have to 'hold' both sides manually while you pump? I want one which I can just stick on and have my hands free!!

Not sure if any stay on by themselves (although I could briefly let go of my electric medela one before it gave up the ghost and the suction held it on). I'm getting an expressing bra or maybe making my own by butchering an old bra so I can have my hands free to eat lunch and maybe do some marking. Something very sexy like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PumpEase-Hands...b42624ff52d949

PS Not sure of the size but it doesn't look much bigger than my medela mini electric double

Hot stuff!!! I think they're the only option though aren't they! I always find I can't express for quite long enough because C needs me. If I could just plug myself in, even if I have to sit in bed/on the sofa it's better to have my arms free! Even more so when I'm by myself.

Have you heard good things about the Ameda?

Yes, lots of girls on here have them - Tiger Lady (one of my bfing heroes!) has one and rates it.

I saw somewhere that a woman made an expressing bra by cutting diagonal slits down the top side of her nursing bra cups and then added press studs so you could close it again around the funnels.

Puniky, the pump arrived today (less than 24 hours after I ordered it!) and it's fabulous! It has cycle and suction control (the Medela double mini only has suction control) so you can stimulate more letdowns easily, and I got 3.5 ounces off each boob in ten minutes, which is a record for me lately as I thought my supply was dwindling! Obviously just the old pump was crap.

It's worth noting that the medela one is not really built to last I think as it only has a 3 month warranty, whereas the Ameda has a 1 year warranty.

Oooo that's wicked!! Right I'm ordering mine on Monday so it's there when I get home and I can get pumping-tastic!

I'm gonna order one of those expressing bras too using Ciarán's first lot of child benefit ha ha!

Good plan! It's about the same size as the medela double but the pump bits are a bit taller - hang on, I'll find a pic next to my medela base for comparison:

Note the copious quantities of milk in the bottles!
