Too soon!???

My son is only 2.5 weeks old - he was born early, so it took 2-3 days to establish breastfeeding. I have a pump for later so OH can feed as well (was thinking would introduce at 5-6 weeks) BUT I will need to be away from LO for 2.5-3h tomorrow. Now this might be ok (sometimes LO can sleep for 3h) but I am thinking of pumping some milk just in case LO needs it.
Question though - could it ruin what I have established with breastfeeding already since he is still so young?

Unfortunately in my opinion it is difficult to say as each baby is different. With me i had a cracked nip so i had to express and give lo a bottle of ebm within the first week. His latch wasnt brilliant, but i think it may have caused slight nipple confusion as we are still working on his latch now. But as i said each baby is diff and he might not have a problem at all. Hope all works out for you! x

Thanks - yes I am worried about nipple confusion - but maybe just the one time would be ok?
I guess I will have to see what happens - his latch is much better than it was. I also had cracked/bleeding nipples at the beginning, but now they are much better - so I think that is an indication that it is improving.
xx

Thats an idea - OH is pretty good at cupfeeding! He would have to feed in the car though - so he might worry about organizing everything. hmmm - a syringe might work too... haven't tried that before...
