Other drinks?

I know that for little babies water is a bad idea because it fills up their tummy when they ought to get milk, and that foremilk is a perfect thirst quencher...

But I was just wondering about when/how often to offer water.

Jack is 8 months now and thriving on breast milk and BLW, but I've only offered him water a couple of times.

Should I be offering more water or is breast milk still the only liquid he really needs?

breast milk will still be fine for him. I only started offering Kaya more drinks when I started trying to wean her a bit more.

although Betty was formula fed, I didn't start giving her water till she was about 6 months. And even then it was only rarely.

Poppy has lots of water with her meals. In between meals she still gets breast milk, and two big milk feeds morning and night. She loves drinking from a cup now, so it's good to give her something she feels in control of! Which is something she's really enjoying with BLW - feeding herself.

I think I will try and encourage him to drink more water as his poos can be very firm when he's eaten a lot of solids and they're nasty stingy teething poos that make him bleed
