Another question from me...

Hi All

sorry - me again!

My LO wants to feed all the time from about 5.00 but after each feed he is sick (he isn't in the day)... is this usual? Or am I reading the hungry cues wrong? or is he just doing it to get my milk supply up?

Cheers

I was having this worry this week too hon.
Although H wasn't sick (as opposed to a little spit up) until last night.
She got so upset in the end, we had to goto 24hr tesco for infacol, she's been more like her normal self today.
I think it was part growth spurt and part comfort guzzling because her tummy was sore.
H was passing wind ('nappy noise') so well last week, she didn't take winding... but I hadn't put all the pieces together this week to realise straight away that she was full of wind.
Do you think you're getting all his wind up?

I believe that trapped wind can cause them to bring up a little of their food. My LO has always had trouble bringing up wind through burping but will fart a lot, so I guess that is his way of getting rid of it. BUT it doesn't seem to cause him any problems (I used gripe water when he was old enough and found that helped, but I don't find I need to use it now).

He also often is sick a little of his food after some feeds, but not a lot, this is normal. Is it 5pm? He could be clustering feeds to get him through the night, I found for about 2 weeks around this stage I was constantly attached from 5pm through until 9pm, there is alos a growth spurt around this stage too.

If he is gaining weight fine, and it isn't projectile vomit personally I wouldn't worry. But you may like to check with the HV.
