| When did you BF baby begin to sleep for more than 4 or 5 hrs? To be honest, we're not doing too badly on the sleep front, apart from when Monty has really bad colic. However, more sleep would of course be appreciated, and we're looking forward to the nights when Monty "sleeps through" (I use inverted commas there because I've read that sleeping through does not mean 7pm until 8am, or some other sought-after period - rather, it means sleeping for 5 or 6 hours solid).
Monty is totally BF. We hope to get him to take a bottle of expressed milk some time this week, but we plan to avoid giving formula at any time, unless it becomes essential.
So, when did your totally BF babies begin to sleep through? Did it just happen one night and then suddenly you saw an amazing routine? Or did it happen now and again, with good and bad nights? Or did it happen gradually, with baby sleeping an extra few minutes per session each night? | | | | Status: Offline

| Rose gradually started to go longer the bigger she got. Apparently once they get to about 11lbs they are capable of going 5 hours without A feed which is exactly what she did. | | | | Status: Offline

| Meant to say that she goes longer now most nights and has done for the last few weeks since she hit the 12lb mark. She is also exclusively BF. | | | | Status: Offline

| Ilana did an 8 hour stretch at 3 weeks and has done roughly7-11.5 hours a night most nights since. She's not set in stone though and it does change a lot depending on teething, growth spurts etc. | | | | Status: Offline

| Ben was sleeping up to five hours at night from birth - which I have discovered is very good for a breastfed baby, it increased to about 10 hours a night just before he turned 3 months old and then he started waking up every 2-3 hours for a feed for 5 weeks until HV advised to start Ben on solids so now sleeping through the night again. xx | | | | Status: Offline

| My LO regularly did 6 hours at 6 weeks, 7 at 7 and 8 at 8. She now almost always does 7-8. The longest was 9 and a half, which I woke her from so could have been longer. She currently weighs 11 pounds 14 oz. | | | | Status: Offline

| Well despite LO being 8 weeks old today and weighing over 12lbs she doesn't seem to go any longer in the night then she did at 2 weeks old!
She feeds every 3 hours occasionally 4 in the day.
But has never gone longer than 4.5 hours at night | | | | Status: Offline
