Do you have a partner? You could involve him in the feeding process - you could BF, then pass baby onto your partner to bottlefeed your expressed milk while you either pump ready for next time or wait on standby to make up a formula supplement.

I'm almost exclusively expressing & bottle-feeding due to Andrew's poor latch, and I'm grateful that he's now on a 4hrly cycle as it gives a gap between sessions, but it is time-consuming to express and feed; so OH and I split the feeds between us (he does some & I do some), and if I'm not feeding then I express at the same time.

Thanks girls i had a normal delivery so not down to c-section... i just dont have a clue why i would be producing such little milk? I have been letting my OH do the formula feeds, but with him working, there is only so much he can do in a day. its a nightmare. Where would i go about getting fenugreek? what does it do?

xx

Info about Fenugreek here - it's a "galactogogue" (sp?) which means for some people it can help increase the milk supply. I bought some today from Holland & Barrett, but it's £7.50/100 capsules, and you can take upto 8 a day, so it's expensive.

The prescription equivalent (in the UK) is domperidone (marketed as Motillium), you can talk to your GP about getting this.

Try not to stress overly about this - stress is the worst thing ever for decreasing milk supply!
