Rookie question...

Is it ok to drink the odd glass of wine whilst breastfeeding?

I'm currently not drinking because I've got a couple of infections so I'm mainly thinking about Christmas. Is it ok to have a glass of wine on Christmas day? The reason I ask is my DH doesn't think it's ok to drink at all so I thought I should check.

I'm obviously not thinking of getting drunk... I'm way too old for any of that

Think there was a thread on this recently, and the general concensus was that its fine to have a glass or two-just don't get 'drunk' If you feel ok to drive then you're fine. I have a glass of wine a few times a week or a beer-although i don't touch spirits. For some reason having a gin and tonic just doesn't sit quite right with me-think its because wine is considered 'healthy' alcohol!

I do and I think it's fine - I only drink after she's asleep in the evenings, cos she never wakes up before midnight (usually 3am-5am sometime), so it's had about three hours to get out of my system before she eats again.

I only have a small glass - once, I think, I've had two small glasses.

I would think this is fine (obviously, or I wouldn't do it!!!).

Yeah, there was a thread a bit ago. I think the general idea was to not feel bad about having one small drink, especially if you do it when you know you won't have to nurse for a while again.

I don't miss drinking, so don't, but wouldn't feel bad about it if I wanted one drink. I'd have it.

I drink a beer on th weekend sometimes. Getting bucks fizz for xmas day as I figure I can top it up with a bit more orange juice and have a couple. ASDA do a nice alcohol-free cava too that I might get so I feel more like I'm having something different for christmas day, heh.
