Cluster feeding

Hey... Can anyone tell me what cluster feeding is? I'm a first time BF mum so it's double Dutch to me but I have a feeling I will probably come across it in Charlie at some point!

It's when the babies want to feed much more frequently for a certain period of time - usually just before a growth spurt.
It seems to be common in the early evening - sure someone else will explain it better than this for you though

I call it fussy time, it starts bout 7 or 9 and lasts till 12 (everyone is diff) he wafts at the boob, makes noises, shakes his head, punches and claws at my boob (probs out of frustration as theres no milk in there as hes sucked me dry) and feeds nearly continually till he falls asleep! This also happens at a growth spurt. Some ppl just get the continuous feeding, ull know cuz you will be stuck to the sofa! x

Lol @ bana!

Yep we have the cluster feeding here too, last night we was feeding from 4pm till about 9pm on and off till he finally fell to sleep...and stayed asleep! Everytime I put him down he was awake again and searching for food...little chubbster!

Lets just say, you learn to eat and do pretty much everything one handed when you come across cluster feeding! hehe! I managed to eat spag bol one handed last night, spilt lots, but the majority went in my mouth! LOL
