Bedtime routine for 11 week old? Cluster feeding question

I have popped this in the baby club section as well but would love any advice regarding the cluster feeding, thanks x

Rose is 11 weeks corrected age now ( she was prem and seems to be following this size and development wise) and is a bit tricky in the evenings. She is still cluster feeding for hours (is this normal,?? May ask on the bf section also) and then seems to get over tired and wont go to sleep.

She will fall asleep on us eventually but as soon as we put her down she is wide awake but we know she is tired She desperately wants to feed each time she wakes and I wonder if she wont go to sleep until she knows she has enough in her tummy to get her through the night?

She goes down between 9 and 10pm (is this normal?!) and is sleeping really well (fingers crossed) to around 4-5am when she wakes for a feed, she naps during the day without a problem.

Anyway, We dont really have a routine, do you have one and do you think it would help her given all the cluster feeding?

Hope this makes sense!

Thanks x

Cluster feeding is very very normal!!! And in your case, it means she sleeps through till 4 or 5 am - which is lovely. What you describe sounds like a rather good night, by most of the accounts I hear!

Routine can be useful, and of course, you probably have one already; you probably find that you are falling into doing things in a certain order and maybe at certain times. If you want to change the routine that you are slowly establishing, you can do this, one change at a time.

If you feel that she is wired, over-stimulated, then you can experiement with other ideas to mellow her out; slings are wonderful, a bath, baby massage, skin to skin or cuddling in bed, a pram ride or even car journey, an electric swing seat or bouncy chair. But of course, generally, babies prefer the breast.... it soothes and gentles them, it comforts them and helps them unwind, they feel secure and contended, surrounded by love and the comforting presence of their mother.
