Big Boobs...

Is there an issue with BF when you have a larger chest? One of my friends who also has a fuller bust found she had to watch she wasnt suffocating her baby when BF...

I was wondering if anyone had any difficulties when BF because of their boob size or what they found helped etc.

This is just out of interest and for future reference

Haven't found that having a 44I chest has been a problem! I was a 44H before having him, but they got bigger. It did look a bit silly when he was tiny, but wasn't a problem. My LO would have objected to being forced onto or held on to the breast, I just gentle hold him near, so he can always move his head back if he needed to. When feeding lying down, don't have a cushion behind LOs head, so if he needs to move back he can.

I'm a 36/38G right now (38D before breastfeeding) and have not had any size-related BF issues. Totally doable!

I am a 38G and not had any real problems, sometimes I do press gently on my boob to move it away from LO's nose if he seems to be struggling and when he was first born I tried the rugby hold sometimes which worked well. His head used to look tiny next to my boobs

My breasts are large, and I've never had a problem. Just tilt LO's head a bit so that they are in the "sniffing" position and then their nose will be in the clear for breathing.

I love the on the side and have baby lower so you are looking down at him/her yet can still make eye contact. worked well!

I'm big boobed too and had no problems. Had Finlay in the bath with me earlier and he was sitting in my lap facing away from me, it looked like 3 bald men from above LOL.

All I did (when he was small, as he grew it didn't matter so much) was to press my finger into my boob, by his nose, to give him some space. Worked fine

I find the rugby ball is easier - especially when C was tiny. Otherwise no major size related problems. I do find I generally need 2 hands to feed when some of my more petite friends can manage with one hand.

I haven't had any problems feeding my LO with my big boobs. It is often a 2 handed job though, lifting the breast gently with my 'spare' hand.
I don't think he has any problems breathing. When his chin is resting on my breast his nose is not in contact with my skin. That said, he sometimes nuzzles his head right into my breast. I think that as long as he has space to pull away if and when he needs to, he'll be just fine!
