A glass or two is not enough to worry about IMO. If you could drive, then you can nurse. I would have a glass of wine, then a glass of water, then a glass of wine.

My midwife explained 'pump and dump' but also said not many people do. She suggested instead to wait to drink until just after he's fed so your body has a chance to metabolize the alcohol. If he gets a little bit, it's ok too. I've never noticed a change in Jack even if he's fed shortly after my glass of wine or beer. Just not too much/too often.

I agree with Samantha hon. I believe that the alcohol is only in your milk for as long as it's in your system generally. So if you wouldn't have fed LO until the morning anyway then I don't think there's any need to pump and dump. Enjoy!

i'm having a lovely glass of wine right now!!! Expressing is only to make your boobs feel more comfortable if you miss a feed. Alcohol does not stay in your milk... if its out your system its out of your boobs.

Plus the NHS will still take breast milk donations if you have 2 units a day.

It's an hour a unit for your body to get rid of the alcohol so try and time your drinks with your LOs feeds
