I BF my son today in the library (couldn't be bothered going out to the car to do it and I'm trying to up my public feeding to the point where I don't give a damn and just whip them out in the middle of a street lol)

Anyway I asked where could I go to feed him and the girl on counter said the kids section would be quiet for me to have some privacy so I went there. A middle aged woman came over and sat down near me and said 'That's a really lovely thing to see. I BF all my kids and tried to get my daughters to BF but none of them would so it's lovely to see someone feeding their baby' I said thanks and that not everyone likes to see it but hey it needs doing and then she said it's the best thing in the world for baby. I knew all this (of course lol) but it was really nice to have a positive comment and not a neg one like some poor girls get.

Later however I was in A&E in hospital with my LO and to comfort him I had to feed him. Well the whole roomful of people looked sooooo uncomfortable bless them lol looking in any direction but at me - and with my huge bazookas they're hard to avoid lol but thankfully nobody said anything. If they had they'd have gotten a mouthful (of abuse not boobie lol)

Great job! That was so nice of that lady, it must have been encouraging! I BF Carter at our local library as well. We take Erica for toddler story time they do twice a week, and I just sit near the back and feed him. Most moms just smile.

I got a similar thing in the hospital - but I was in the antenatal clinic for my postnatal check!! Although didn't get any comments, just looks!!

Awww i love old people...... sometimes!! Honestly though dirty looks in the hospital ? The very orginisation which wants us to BF lol rediculas!

my local library was voted 'breastfeeding friendly' by the local breastfeeding mum's group. I haven't tried it there yet, as I'm still a bit self conscious, lol, but my sister used to work there & she breastfed both her LOs there all the time & always felt comfortable. Maybe it's a library thing, lol?
