Side effects of milk reducing medication

So the doctor prescribed me some tablets to cut out my milk supply the other day. Wanna know the side-effects? Here we go...

Dizziness
Headache
Tiredness
Low blood pressure
Palpitations
Depression
Nausea
Vomiting
Stomach Pain
Gastritis
Constipation
Facial Redness
Angina
Crawling/prickling sensations
Hallucinations
Changes in vision
Nosebleeds
Extreme drowsiness
Fainting
Cramps in the fingers and claves
Fibrosis
Pathologic gambling
Increased Libido
Hypersexuality

Not surprisingly you aren't supposed to drive or operate heavy machinery. LOL!

The course of tablets is for 2 days or 4 days if it's not sorted after two. If you don't see me on much is cos I'm having a busy weekend with the last three side-effects! Bring it on!

OMG!!

I had some sleeping tablets from the docs in September, and one of the side effects was that they may cause drowsiness!!!!!

That's a long scary list of side effects! Hope you don't get them all at once!

tbh, I think, in reality it's viagra for females and one of the side effects is drying up the milk. they just don't think it is good marketing to promote it like this

be careful, you don't get hooked on it

Helen, do you mind me asking the name of the drug the doctor prescribed?

Those side effects sound scary, why did they feel you needed something to dry up your milk? It will naturally dry up soon

The drug is Cabergoline. I was prescribed it because I asked for something! My boobs get pretty full as you can imagine generating milk for two and they were just stuck hugely full and had been for a week. I couldn't sleep because they were so painful and I was having trouble with the children because I couldn't lift or cuddle them easily. When I spoke to the doc he said it could last up to a couple of months. He told me some of the side effects of the drug and I chose to take it.
