I live in Canada and it annoys me that there are no milk banks where I live! I have a freezer full of milk my son won't eat!! I'll most likely have to throw it away!

have you been in touch with the local hospital to see if they will take it?

I phoned three Milk Banks and my local hospital, none of them could take me as a donor, due to my location. In America, a lot of banks will supply shipping containers, I wish I could have donated some. I've missed the cut off now, so cannot donate.

I think this is really sad. Your milk could have helped so many preemie bubbas. It's such a shame that UKAMB doesn't get the financial support it deserves sometimes, as it costs a lot to get someone to collect. They also rely a lot on volunteer drivers and are always after peole to help with milk collection.

One milk bank I spoke to had one person who collects milk, that is all.

It would be great if all hospitals had the facilities to test/store milk.

I've donated. One of the milk banks is my local hospital (Huddersfield)

Ooooh hurrah - I don't have quite the mad excess of milk yet with the demand feeding of a sturdy little lady but I shall save the link and when we have a better routine will get in touch with them, thanks!

I looked up my local Milk Bank after seeing this thread a few days ago and they're setting me up to become a donor once LO is here and BFing is underway.

Just wanted to say thanks, it was something I'd been thinking about and it encouraged me to go for it! Fingers crossed that it all goes to plan x
