Breast Pumps - Manual or electric?

Hi ladies

Sorry I know you've prob been asked this a thousand times! I'm looking to buy a breast pump but have heard mixed reviews and can't decide whether to buy manual or electric. I'm also interested to find out which is brands are good? Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated please x

Are you pumping so you can return to work? For the odd night out? So OH can give a regular bottle?

If it's going to be a regular thing, I'd say go for the electric one to save you time. I have the Medela Swing and it's great

I'd say electric. I got a manual pump but found it easier to express by hand. My electric pump arrived today and it's much easier and quicker than the manual one.

I have one of each and find I use them at different times.
I use my electric medela swing in the morning which is my main pump. Then during the day if I need to pump I'll use a manual tommee tippiee. Also the manual pump was a god send when I had blocked ducts and became engorged as I sat in a warm bath pumping to relieve the pressure! The TT manual pump was only about a tenner in the tesco baby week so keep an eye out.
Hope that helps.
Jen
