bfing hands free

when my lo was born he had a low birth weight so he struggled to bf, he was just not strong enough to suck, so when we started out id hold the breast for him..now 9 weeks later i still do this and perhaps he is lazy and dosnt have a good grip iykwim..How can i change this?

I always have to hold my breast, as my nipple seems to point at a funny way and if I didn't lift my breast up a bit, poor baby would suffocate under my 36D's

I don't like holding it up, but sure it's only for couple more months until he's 6 months old and will be weaned, so I just have to get on with it.

Sorry i wasn't any help though, so lets hope more expereinced ladies can give you advice !

No thanks for the reply, its good to know Im not the only one doing it, its now just a habit so i dont mind and if he is in a good hold i might let go to gran my coffee lol.

My god i long for the day where i can feed hands free and be able to drink/eat/internet wile Bfing... I have no idea how these ladies do it! again im a big busted babe so that doesnt help

sorry hun i really cant help much but have yiu tred heling him latch with your hand holding your boob and for 5 mins while he gets a good suck and latch then letting go ?? i find if daisy has a poor suck i threaten to take her off fo like a secongd then she gets a good suck on again !!!!!!!

i have teeeeeny boobs and can bf one handed but it does have drawbacks - terrible spelling and grammar on here now!! with random letters thrown into words!! lol and you gt food all over your LO !!!

have tried that today actually! I find when using a bf pillow it is easier to let go than when I am out and in public and he isnt supported iykwim.

I can only be totally hands free when I lay down on my side to feed her and she lays on the bed. Otherwise I'm holding her with one hand. I have smaller boobs though (although at 34F I feel huge for me right now!)
