I'd change surgeries hun, that is disgraceful that they won't prescribe it. I'd go to a different surgery and speak to them. I had no problems getting it as it is for babies best interest not you. The Dr is putting your baby's health at risk and I'd be going mental at them!! Grrrrr

I'd change surgeries or buy it over the counter. It's not up to SCBU to prescribe it for you - we can't even give our mums paracetamol, as our doctors work with babies and not adults (they're paediatricians, not obstetricians). Your GP is being ridiculous, loads of medications are used for purposes other than which they're licensed for (i.e. most medications aren't licensed for use in children, but they're used; viagra was originally for blood pressure, I believe!).

You should have the dose from the letter or from what the other mum gave you. I'd just pop down to Boots and get it over the counter. As long as it's the same dosage in the bottle (I think it's all 1mg in 1ml), you'll be fine to take the dose you're already on. If Boots asks, it's for your reflux. And get the generic, not a brand name. Generic is almost always cheaper, and it's the same thing.

oooh so it should be easy enough to buy from a chemist then, great! although i do agree why should you have to pay for it when others are getting it easy! maybe you should ask to see another doctor in the surgery? i would go through them all until i find someone who would give me it, its not like ur asking for your own benefit is it...its ridiculous

x
