BF after surgery

Hi Ladies,
I'm new to the WTT forum but just wanted to ask if anyone has successfully managed to BF after breast reduction surgery?

I'm 9 weeks post op and can't concieve for just over a year yet but am curious as have never met anyone who's tried it.

I was advised that it was unlikely I could have breastfed at all without the surgery as my breasts were extremely heavy and my large nipples pointed downwards. I had 1/2 stone worth of tissue removed and am still a 34E so you can probably imagine how big I was before

Also, has anyone used supplemental devices such as medela? I can't post a link as it thinks I'm spamming but it's a device that attaches to your nipple to supplement the flow of milk with formula.

TIA

Stacey

Yeah I did ask but unfortunately they have no idea about successful breastfeeding as most of the women are out of their care years before they have babies (and the majority have it done after having a family) The midwife did say it could be possible but again, it's quite rare to have it done at my age and a friend who's a midwife has asked for me to contact her with some info when I go through it as she has no experience of it herself!

I did do a search but it brought up no results.

Whilst I'm very grateful to have had the surgery as my back pain is remarkably better even after a short period, it's always going to be something that will play on my mind, just looking for something that will give me hope really.
