| Need quick reply! breast feeding in public Im going out for the day shopping and a sushi resturant for lunch so no doubt Scott will want feeding.
Does anyone know if the law applies in wales that they can ask you to leave a place if your breastfeeding (under 6 months) or is it just in scotland and wales? | | | | Status: Offline

| I think it applies everywhere, im pretty sure Scotland has had it even longer than England.
If they tell you to stop tell them your going to sue, its discrimination ! | | | | Status: Offline

| The problem with the current law is that yes you are protected under the sex discrimination act but YOU have to take THEM to court. They cant be arrested as it's not a criminal offence to ask you to stop. If you are in a cafe which is a private business they can ask you to leave because they have the right to refuse to serve anyone.
Until this Equality Bill comes in, there's still not enough protection IMO and even then they are talking about it only applying until the baby is 6 months old.....so what would I do????? | | | | Status: Offline
