When did you start weaning?

As the title says really.

I'm hoping to exclusively BF until past the six month mark, but if Jack gives me signals that he's ready sooner then we'll have to revise that.

How many of you made it to six months and beyond? And how did you know it was time to start weaning?

Do you mean weaning off the breast, or on to solids?

Oliver has been BF for 8 months today and shows no signs of stopping. We started weaning onto solids at 5 1/2 months. We'll stop bf when he's ready.

I mean going onto solids. I don't ever intend to give him formula, he will still get breast when on solids.

Yes hun, 5 1/2 months. Every mummy and every baby is different though. You just go with the flow. To be honest, Oliver may have lasted longer. He wasn't really showing any classic signs. I just started him as we were doing BLW. This way, I knew he would start to eat food when he was ready. It seemed to work well for us.

By the way, you may get more response if this is in the weaning section.

Well I am still pretty much waiting for that to happen. hahaha I have been trying and trying with Brenn, and most of the time he is just not that interested in solids. He will clamp his mouth down and turn his head repeatedly. It doesn't matter what it is. baby food, hot, cold, cut of bits of what we are having. I am just trying to remain cool about it, and let him feed how he wants to be fed.

We'll be doing BLW too, I already had a nosey at the support sticky in weaning & nutrition lol! (I didn't post this there as I felt it was sort of specific to BFing)
