Coming of Domperidone

Does anyone know why your supposed to gradually decrease Domperidone rather than just stop it? Presumably its incase lactation stops??? Or drastically reduces your BM??? I want to stop have been taking 8 tabs a day for over 4 months and want to stop it because it is giving me cramps, headaches, nausea and simply because i have been taking it for too long. It has not made any significant increase in BM anyway.

Have googled it and although i can find the regime in how to gradually decrease before you stop, dont know what the reason is.

no idea hun. If your doctor prescribed it why dont you ask him?

It was my midwife that prescribed it and once baby gets to 6 weeks your discharged by midwife over here! I have 4 month jabs in a week will ask my public health nurse then? Cheers
