Biting-what do you do?

Lo has started biting me, he knows its naughty coz he looks up and smiles at me after he does it. I take him immediately off then and say " no biting mommy, no more boobie" The thing is he doesnt only do it when hes mucking around, he just grips very tightly when he is drinking too, and after I see horrible teeth marks, it really hurts.
I am not sure what to do, he has always latched on really well. I am thinking maybe its time to stop nursing him.. but he doesnt take a bottle so i dont know what to give him milk in, he wont take it in a cup either, he hates milk that is not in my boobs!!

Taking him off and saying No is the right thing to do hun. He is old enough to understand what you mean with the action of taking him off too. You just need to work through it hun, easier said than done I know. The choice is yours as to whether you can get through it or you chose to stop. At 12 months he should have a cup any way, not a bottle. HTH and well done for getting this far xxx

The other approach is to pull him towards you so your breast cover his nose and he will open his mouth to breath. This is my preferred method as we try not to use 'No'. Hebe only did it a couple of times and she stopped when I did this

If Brenn bites me now I just take him off and tell him no. I have tried to pull him into me, but that doesn't work anymore.

Take him off and put him down. Don't let him relatch right away. Thats what worked for me. Pulling him in towards you is the easiest way to unlatch him too. He'll figure it out and stop if he wants to keep eating!
