it could be that lily is taking more milk at her feeds which would explain why you are getting less, if you want to increase your milk supply then the best way is to increase lily feeding

i wouldnt use expressing as a measure for how much milk you've got cos it gets harder to express over time! does LO have a dummy? someone was telling me the other day that when she had her youngest, he had a dummy from practically day 1 and it affected how much milk she produced cos even when they're comfort sucking, its stimulating your boobs too produce more milk! she went on a nursing holiday thing, where she just locked herself away for a few days, went to her mums and had her mum bring her all her meals and brews and stuff in bed and just nursed constantly. said ti was bloody hard work, but it made so much difference xxxx

Things like tiredness and stress can affect supply, have you started doing more or have things been more stressful?

The amount I produce varies greatly, some days are just better milk days than others!

How often are you expressing? How long do you express for each time? Do you exress in the night?

I found this guide really helpful:
http://www.hollister.com/us/files/pd...ilk_supply.pdf

Quote:
If you need to increase your milk supply, the sooner you work on it, the faster you’ll see results:
• Increase the number of pumpings to 8-12 per day, which is enough to boost milk supply, for most women.
• Increase pumping time to 2 minutes after the last drop of milk or 20-30 minutes, whichever comes first.
• Have your pump flange fit checked. Many women get better results with a larger nipple tunnel. Fit can change over time.
• Use breast massage during pumping. This yields more milk.
• Ask your lactation consultant to talk to your doctor about prescription medications and/or medicinal herbs such as domperidone (Motilium), or fenugreek (natural plant product) capsules.
I pump for 5 minutes after the milk stops flowing. I had to pump 10 times a day to boost my supply.

What pump are you using? Could you double pump?

It is usually possible to boost supply, please don't panic.

How much do you get each day?
