When did you start weaning?

Yeh onto food. Just wondering whats about average... was totally shocked when sil started giving baby rice at 6 weeks to her baby. she's now 3 months old and has it 3times a day which i think is sooooooooooo wrong.

I'm not sure I go in for this link with obesity but I do believe you need to give their digestive system a chance to mature. There is a scientific link between weaning early (I mean reeeeally early as you've just described) and gasterointestinal infection in young babies.

i know ive read up lots about it as i was soooo shocked when i saw her doing it... the poor baby cant even swallow properly yet, it just gets shovelled in.

5 months for us. wanted to get to 6 but my daughter was clearly ready for it as she would get very frustrated when she saw us eating, her milk upped a bit and her weight begun to drop so decided it was time. I only gave basic purees until 6 months though.

Yeah I def don't agree with doing it that early at all. I thought you meant weaning by off the breast so I chose other, but with Hayden we tried at 6mo, he had no interest and didn't start eating solids until 9mo

Annabelle was about 4 and a half months, i only did it because doctor adviced us too. she was very ready but i was trying to wait but he suggested starting for medical reasons

Brenn still just dabbles in food. He won't eat many solids yet.
