Wind

Hi Ladies,

Hope someone can advise me about the above.

Basically Olivia is a very windy baby and really suffers after each feed and despite trying several different things nothing really seems to help.

We have tried gripe water, infacol, keeping her raised for 20 mins after each feed and we spend around 45 mins after each feed trying to get her wind up with different positions.

For the last week I have tried different feeding positions as I have been thinking that maybe my milk flow is causing the wind as it does flow quite fast.

It does seem to help alittle when I feed Olivia laying down but still the poor mite seems to suffer after the feed and I cant feed her laying down for every feed.

I am going to try Co-leif for a week to see if that helps but my h/v said that if it is my flow that is causing the wind, maybe the best thing to do would be to use anti colic bottles and express

Now I love breast feeding my little one but I dont want to see her suffering either. Has anyone else experienced anything like this or can offer some advice???

Thank you xxxx

I think Jemima had a very fast flow and she fed with Poppy on top of her somehow - so gravity slowed the milk down. PM her a link to this thread and I'm sure she'll be happy to explain

hmm im surprised your hv suggested that. have you used the infacol religiously? it needs to be given before each feed, thats where i went wrong as i would give it now and again whenever i remembered and it didnt really work until i did it before EACH feed. alternatively you could try dentinox colic drops. my SIL uses this with her LO and it seems to do the trick. keep at it though hun, you're doing fab x
