Me and my hubby come from family's of FF babies. We were trying for alfie for 2 years before i fell and i ALWAYS said i would BF i didn't have a lot of support from my family i think they thought i wouldn't do it in the end.

my hubby give me all the support i needed and all the fetching and carrying in the first weeks

my dad wouldnt even walk in a room when i was feeding and used to say alfie needed a bottle to fatten him up a bit.but now he sits in a room with me and talks to me while i feed and thinks its a good thing as alfie is so content and stopped round there on friday and didnt cry once and slept through he night which surprised him a bit i think.

i just wanted to prove that i could do it and to give my little boy the best start in life and it paid off. i love BF and wouldnt let anything anyone says stop me from doing it.

Support....definitely. The Mum's we help at Breastmates are more successful when they have lots of support and I couldn't agree more

It was something I always wanted to do and despite the fact my husband's family had never b/f, he was very supportive of me doing it.

I read up quite a lot about b/f first and knew there was every chance there could be problems with pain/poor latching etc but I was prepared to do everything I could to try to do it. Things didn't go quite to plan, as Poppy arrived 6 weeks prem but hours after I delivered her we were allowed to take her out of her incubator to see if she would have the ability to feed. And she did. What more motivation could I need that to know that by feeding her I would be giving her the best start in life I could.

I love the cuddles and the closeness and even now I still spend pretty much the whole feed just staring at Poppy and thinking about how much I love her (when I am not reading posts on here that is )

I count myself very lucky that Poppy LOVES the boobies, and I have had no problems. I just hope we are as lucky if/when number two arrives

Im from a breastfeeding family and i didnt think about it at all ff wasnt ever an option for me. My oh and my family are so supportive. I was also out to piss my mil off as well she didnt breastfeed once any of hers she said it was disgusting (the womans from another planet). I always find it so rewarding that the reason shes alive and growing is all because of my boobs lol (well up until she was weaned). FF wasnt ever an option for me im to lazy lol.

I've asked for the growth charts too as we keep coming back to them and a few people agreed a sticky might be good there too - I think new mum's probably wont know about them either.
