BFing Growth Charts

I added these to another thread last night then I thought others might be interested.

These are the new charts that will either replace or go along side the ones used in the read books eventually. The ones in the red books that the HVs use were designed in the 70's when FFing was very popular in comparision to BFing. As a result many health care professionals recognise that BF babies dont put on weight at the same rate - cows milk is designed with muscle and bulk in mind and human milk isnt. So hopefully this will help BFing Mum's to see that their babes are doing fine too!

Brilliant! Thanks for the link. I really REALLY obsessed about bf and weight gain in the early weeks and wish I had seen these charts. I would have felt soooo much better.

Fantastic! Thank you so much for these. According to the chart we had, Alyssa was only on the 25th centile. According to these new, up-to-date ones, she's more like the 50th!

Much appreciated - I've bookmarked these! Might be a great thread to sticky in here?

I wondered that - it does come up as a concern for Mum's pretty regular.

We can ask admin when they aren't so busy.

I've always asked the HV for a breastfed baby chart and although had to remind her a few times to bring me one...I've always got one for each of my children.

It starts in weeks along the bottom up to 13 (I think) then it's full months.
