So, now my 2 week old that loves to sleep while on the boob will only go to sleep after a feed...which means that she sometimes over eats and then throws up. I'm at a loss as to how to get her to go down without feeding her. My boobs are getting very overworked and she is not getting any milk if she keeps over feeding and then throwing it up...

I feel so bad that I can't get her to settel any other way....HELP!

Do you burp her a few times as you feed her?

Don't worry about feeding her to sleep. Your baby doesn't know how to go to sleep by herself, she needs to be parented to sleep.

It is normal for young babies to bring up a bit of their feed when you wind them (it's called possetting), but it won't be much compared to the amount she's taking in so don't worry that she's throwing it all up. As Marg suggested, if you wind her several times during a feed it should reduce the amount of wind she has in her full tummy at the end. It's ok for her to fall asleep after a feed - Sam always did when he was very young - now he's awake all day and has no problems going to sleep in his cot by himself x

It will get easier as she gets older. The first few weeks I could only get my ittle one to sleep by feeding, now at 6 weeks I ca put him in his cot and he falls asleep by himself.

If they overeat, they just throw up the excess milk so u don't have to worry that your baby is not getting food.

I agree with what the other's have said. The only thing I would add is that if she is doing more than just spitting up a healthy bit, like if she is really projectile vomitting massive amounts, that would be something to bring up with a consultant. But otherwise, she's keeping enough in her belly. Proof of that is if she is getting enough wet diapers and gaining weight.

Thanks all..she is still have many wet diapers so I guess she is getting enough...God I wish I had see through boobs!lol!
