Breast feeding mummies...answer this question for me please!!


Hey...right my question is...when you attach your babies to your boobs...is the initial attachment supposed to be painful and then once they start sucking the pain goes?

Yep, same here.
If we've had a day/night of bad latching on it'll hurt for a bit, just have to make sure he latches on properly.

Yeah that's how it is at the begining; You know you're doing it right (as in, latching them on correctly and less likely to get sore cracked nippes) if it hurts just in the initial latching-on, but there should be no pain when they are actually feeding...

The intitial latching-on pain will subside in time, though - To tell the truth I'd completely forgotten about it until reading this thread! lol
