I'm Currently Feeling: | Weight loss with natural birth vs induction I have noticed that ladies who give birth on their own (i.e. their own body starting the process) tend to lose more weight right after birth, and the ones (like myself) who had to be artificially helped out lost less.
Am I imagining this? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Nope, not imagining...
The IV has been found to increase the water weight of a mama and she ends up retaining that weight a lot longer than a 'natural' mom. Obviously induction mamas have loads of IV fluid over the course of labor so that's part of it.
Now, this amounts to 5-10 lbs difference between the two women at the first stages of post partum... anything beyond that is other weightloss stuff (activity level, diet, etc.) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I kinda expected to drop a little more than my almost 25 lbs...Im also pretty sure they went thru 3-4 liters of IV fluids during my induction, which explained my unbelievable fluid retention in the days after...so thats what might be stalling me from getting rid of this fat suit (despie of walking 4-5 miles daily!!!) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I swear I wee'd all my fluids out before I left the hospital. The nurses were always suprised by how much I could fill the catheter bag up, and as quickly as I could fill it up as well. |
