Cloth Nappy Storage

So, I've spent the last couple of days washing my cloth nappies ready for their first use. Double-trouble have to be 8lbs before they can wear them. Now I have this enormous pile of nappies and liners and no where to store them.

How/where do you store yours or is it different in reality i.e. some in wash, some clean and some dirty and therefore not that much storage needed after all?

Is this a dumb question?

This is Noahs Nappy Storage

Big bin which all his and Dylans dirties go waiting for wash (note the hanging cinimon bag above!) Their are three plastic storage boxs, one for inserts and boosters, one for his nappies and the bottom for his wollens and wraps. And Cloth wipes sit on the top

And here is Dylans changing station

Changing table with shelf above for cloth wipes and solution etc
Then just 2 storage boxes underneath one with nappies one with wraps and wollens.

The only dumb question is the one you don't ask!

I have 20 reusables but I also use disposables so I always have a lot of clean reusables around which I just keep in a great big basket that they came in. I could easily keep them all in a drawer or something though if I didn't have the basket.

I recon I have about 5 - 7 out in the wash or on the line at any time so I still have a lot upstairs but as I say I currently mix them with disposables and I only have 1 baby so it will be different for you!

I'd say keep an open mind about what to do with yours, you will find what works for you once you start using them. Personally I had Aeryn's room set out one way before she was born but it all changed about once I started using everything!

I'd take a photo of her room... but SHE'S FAAAST ASLEEP YAY! lol

I keep all Seren's in a chest in hre room. Her nappy bucket is downstairs. I tend to change her downstairs but it doesn't bother me going up to get her nappy. When she was newborn though, I did have a little basket downstairs with some nappies in as I was changing her so often. I have a silly amount of nappies so I only do a wash when the nappy bin is full (every two/three days.)

This is her nappy chest. It actually isn't closing too well at the moment

Yeah actually I have mine dry on a clothes airer in the study downstairs so I tend to just grab stuff off their as it dries to save me keep going upstairs to do a change. I just grab my reusable wipes off the line, run under the tap and occasionally add a little olive oil soap (if its a messy one!)

i have storage boxes like cat and i have a 'bath box' downstairs where i keep some so if i change Rhys downstairs i can just grab one from there. i have 2 nappy pails one upstairs and one downstairs. also its easy just to grab them off the clothes airer (mine hangs on the radiator which has been great coz the heatings been on with the weather being bad!)

All my nappies are downstairs, with two bums to change I find it easier to have them at hand. I wash every day at the moment because I don't like the odour of the nappies bluergh. I have an airer in the dining room to use if the weather is rubbish but at the moment I hang out the nappies that I've washed the day before in the morning and they're dry by the late afternoon.
Top shelf is stuffing for pockets and reusable wipes and nappies that need sorting. Bottom shelf is nappies that are ready to use (pink basket for Ella blue for Alex).
Notice my pic is the messiest, ooops lol. I used to keep them upstairs in the old house when I just had Ella, but as I get through so many and change them downstairs it's easier.
