I'm Currently Feeling: | My 2yr old and Potty Training, advice pls Hi everyone !!
Just wondered if anyone can help me pls. My son is now taking his pullups off and siting on his potty, he has had about 3 wee's in the space of 3wks in it. I think more just luck then actually knowing what his doing.
He seems to know what it is for, he takes his cloths off ( as you do, to have a wee) and then sits on his potty and shouts Yeah, wih his arms in the air ( is really funny to watch )
So what do i do now, do i keep trying with him to learn the potty or do i just leave it and try later. He take his pullups off when he has weeded in it or number 2.
Im still not 100% convinced his ready. Well at least his not putting the potty on his head anymore. lol !!
I just wandered how it happend with you all or when you started, anything helos really.
Thanks

| How did you get to this stage lol
Bethanie says "potty, wee, poo" but if I sit her on it.. she says "no no" and runs away lol. She can't pull her nappy down yet either, I have tried to teach her but she just tries to help me with mine.
Interested in the replies you get |

| my daughter is two and a half and i've had lots off people say to me that if you are going to potty train and you think your toddler is ready then you need to go cold turkey two weeks, it takes about. make it as much fun as possible by using star chart or something. don't use pull up pants (only my opioun, different textures to underwear) put their clothes on as normal as well as underpants or knickers, i found the weeing one fine it took 10 days i think, had to take the potty away after 3 days cos she wouldn't sit on the toliet what so ever, so that went to the fairys. pooing was a bit more difficult, took alot longer she would hold it in. the way i got round that was, used her star chart and when i was using that it took half a week before she stopped pooing in her knickers, but did the star chart for two weeks.
Hope this helps. this is what i have been told. and it has worked for me. my daughter has been potty trained i would say for 2-3 months and i still get accidents now. she has started going backwards, and wetting herslef, so going to use the star chart again for that, cos they get to converdent and forget. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I tried with kian when he was 2 years 2 months and he just didn't get it at all.
Tried him again when he was 2 years 6 months and the penny dropped.
I put him in pants at home and pull ups for trips out at first.
He did a fantastic job and was even dry throughout the night after 2 weeks.
I think using pants was the best thing i did.
It took several months for kian to use the toilet though, insisted on using a potty, which was a pain.
The final milestone was standing up at the toilet, which took him a while to master!!
I'd keep going and use the potty as often as possible. You'll get to a point where your son asks for the potty. |

| same here for me..
i used a sticker chart for zac, every wee he did he got a yellow sticker and every poo a red, i think he was ready though as i initially had some success when he was 2 of him having the odd momment but then he decided to hide the potty so i left it alone for a while and when we tried again using the stickers he was keen to do it, i also gave him lots of excited wooooo i have big boy pants here!!! first time on he pooed in them and got upset so ijust gave him a cuddle and explained gain about the potty and from then on he got the idea and was thrilled about placing a sticker on to the castle (higher and higher mummy on the castle!!) and he went dry both day and night and loves his iggle piggle pants/pirate pants! - thats another tip get pants they will love!
