Babies Bowel Movements Help!!!!

Hi All,

Seriously need some advice, My little boy is three days old and is being bottle feed. On his first day, he passed his black tar poos, but since then has not passed a bowel movement. He is now really struggling to pass a bowel movement, and is very windy, raising his legs in pain, midwife says it will come and its not an issue but its so hard for me to watch my new little boy in such distress.
Has anybody else gone through this as I am turning into an emotional wreck

There's some good advice in this thread: Constipation?

Sorry for not being much help though...not had a problem with this at all. Making sure he's well hydrated would help too but not sure about the rules on giving small amounts of water as Sam is breastfed...anyone? x

Perhaps try a small amount of cooled boiled water? I have heard this can help with constipation. Hope he gets some relief soon x

Maybe try a glycerine suppository. They make them for babies, and get things moving quickly.
