Do You Breastfeed Or Bottle Feed?

I was just curious about the percentage of women that breastfeed or bottle feed.

Why do you prefer to breastfeed?

Why do you prefer to bottle feed?

Or maybe you can't breastfeed?

Pro & cons!

i expressed for 6 weeks with Adele because she couldnt suck and after 6 weeks i dreid up and wasnt producing enough for her to feed on so she was tub fed pre aptamil and preferd it better as when she did get an express feed she was sick after it

Colby on teh other hand was bottle fed in the hospital and when i got home the next day i treid BF but she wouldnt take to it at all and kept spitting the milk out

I bottle feed. Would've liked to breastfeed but it's HARD!!

I'm not going to argue with the facts that only 2% CAN'T but it's a hell of a higher percentage who find it tough. I have a friend who just puts them on the boob and away she goes, but she is lucky. I have found that women who find it easy can be a little smug and disparinging to others (alright, that's just my friend maybe  )

It depends how much you want to do it. I know a member here really struggled but stuck at it and I admire her for it. I think if the Breastapo who patrol the hospitals were more realistic more women would be prepared to give it a proper go. Instead they just tell you it only hurts if the baby is latched on wrong.

Now I'm pretty confident that's cack. All nipples will hurt at first while they're getting used to being sucked on. It hurt me but I became so convinced it was because I was doing it wrong (and Stanley lost a lot of weight) I just quit.

Am going to try a lot harder next time though.

I don't judge anyone on how they feed their baby. HOWEVER (please no-one take offence), I do find it wierd when women don't even want to try. Ever. I know one girl who said her breasts were exclusively sexual objects for her OH. I found that a bit sad.

My OH was very supportive and said he was very jealous as he'd love to be able to breastfeed. AWWW!

the only way i could get my milk out when expressing for adele was to let my OH play with them first

i do find it strange too. but now only through being on a forum and seeing how popular it is.

but where i lived NO ONE breat fed. i had never seen it heard of it. so i thought it was the only normal thing to do bottle feed. i always thought of breast feeding as old hairy legged women hahaha

It's not really the done thing around here either, and although she never said anything I know my mum's happier with formula feeding too. I could SEE the relief and hers (and my dad's) face when I said we were on the bottle

Here I go::::

What really fucks me off is that in my healtch centre in the weigh in clinic there is a huge poster Breast Vs Bottle, and it list how a breast fed baby is likely to have a higher iq etc, now how do you think that makes the mums of bottle fed babies feel? Well I know it makes me feel shite, that I am making my daughter the under dog just cause I found Breastfeeding more painful than labour.

I just dont think it should be rubbed in peoples faces as much as it is in hospitals, baby clinics etc.

I admire those who do, but cut some slack for thise who dont!

End of....

Sorry
