Inner ear infections

hi guys

Coby suffers with these alot, he has one now and its worse than normal, he is covered in a rash, he has a temp, sore throat, not eating and tired all the time.

This is the 3rd hes had in the space of a year, and thinking about it hes prob had some that werent treated before that.

i have just figured that thats prob why he still isnt speaking, altho he can understand everything you say to him, he doesnt speak back.....its prob conected to his ears right?

Has anyone elses children had these alot, im worreid in case it might lead to gromets or something, or am i over reacting a bit?

I wonder if that is what Colton has. My OH had them alot when he was young.

OH's mom (who we live with) has had the HEAT on, and it's been on 80!! It's like around 65-70 outside (comfortable.. with the sun out.. I have to roll my windows down because it's been heating up my car!)! I have been getting headaches because it's so hot in here, so I figured that is what has made Colton sick.

Anyways, he has a rash, which is little red bumps that I though at first was a heat rash, but I dont know. I've had him completely naked all yesterday, and he only slept in a shirt and he is still hot to the touch. His temp yesterday was 99.4F. He has a hoarse sounding cough that I know hurts him because he cries everytime he coughs. He has gotten a runny nose during the night. He is only eating 1-1.5 ounces at a time. He is really tired, but cant seem to sleep for very long, only about an hour or less at a time, then wakes up coughing or gagging on phlem, cries, and I have to sooth him back to sleep.

I have no idea what could be wrong. I just figured it was the heat, because she has only had the heat on like that the last couple of days.. and wala, he gets sick.

hun...no you are defo not over-reacting. Can you ask maybe the gp to get him referred to an ear specialist? I fyou think its causing any problems on his speech then I'd get him referred as soon as..

when i said he has had 3 in the space of a year, i meant this year, so really its in 5 months.

Doc has given him anti D's again, but im medicne, not heard of shots??

I have spoken to my sister about it and she said if he gets another one this year then to take him back and ask him to be refured to ear nose and throat docs

im going to mention it to the speach theropist and see what she says too
