OK since Rhys' bed came on Monday and his room is all finished we are starting to get him to sleep in there on his own at night. After 15 months of Co-Sleeping we know its not going to be an easy change but its just something that needs to happen before the baby arrives.
The plan is to start off with him falling asleep as usual downstairs with us then moving him upstairs when hes sleeping, but eventually i want him to be able to fall asleep in his own bed too.
Didnt start Rhys' bedtime routine until 8.15 (naughty mummy) because we were out for dinner and got back later than planned.
8.15 - Had usual bathtime
8.45 - Changed into jammies and downstairs for cuddles and bottle
9.15 - Finally fell asleep
9.30 - Moved upstairs into own bed
(at this point mummy and daddy celebrated with a glass of wine!)
11.30 - Still asleep in own bed
1.10 - Woke up crying but settled back to sleep on his own
2.45 - Woke up crying but settled back to sleep on his own
3.10 - Woke up crying but settled back to sleep on his own
4.30 - Woke up crying but settled back to sleep on his own
5.40 - Daddy gave in and brought Rhys' into our bed
8.00 - Rhys wakes up
Funny, Bethanie can't sleep downstairs.. she would stay up until we did probably as she is so used to being in her cot. What time does Rhys usually go to bed?
Lastnight was better although because of the late night the day before Rhys didnt settle down until 8.30.
7.30 - Failed attempt at bedtime story and cuddles in bed
7.50 - Gave up and brought Rhys downstairs
8.30 - Fell asleep downstairs
8.45 - Took Rhys up to bed
11.15 - Woke up and had cuddles, fell back asleep in own bed
1.30 - Woke up for a drink of water, fell back asleep in own bed
6.30 - Colin woke Rhys up by accident when getting showered
6.40 - Rhys was fast asleep in our bed once again!
7.30 - Rhys woke up
So yes, better than the night before but far from perfect!
