Just wondering what people though?
Do you think that going to playgroup/pre school is important.
I had Ewan booked in for two mornings (3 hours per session) where i leave him and do occassional duties.
My OH has now announced he doesn't really want him to go, and thinks Ewan will become insitutionalised (sp) we have to pay 7.50 per session which is quite expensive, but i have been told we might get funding. The other option is to leave it till he is 3 when he gets vouchers.
I thought it would be good for him to have time away, but hubby is not keen.

Any ideas?

Personally I like the idea of play groups. I think it's good for young kids to get socialized and to have time with other children their age. We don't have any friends who even have kids so it is something that we will certainly be looking into joining.

I don't think that it's that important. But then I don't believe that socialisation with peer groups is that important anyway. I think it's more important to socialise them with lots of different age groups so they learn different ways of communicating with different ages. (So says the home educator in me anyway lol)

Yea i agree, i think its nice for them to mix with other children and learn social skills etc.
I also think school will be such a shock for them if they have no experiene of pre-school or being left without mum etc. I say this mainly as the school jamie will go to doesnt do half days...they go straight in at 4 on full days! So woul like him to gain a few social skills and mix with children his own age before he does go. (next year i may add omg !!! my baby going school!!!!)
